Organized by the Association of the Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE), a conference took place in Moulay Rachid Cultural Complex on August 6 under the title "investing in real estate and the aspirations of the Moroccan immigrants". Le Matin reports that representatives of 132 associations took part in this event inviting the Moroccan authorities to grant them certain advantages to simplify the procedures to invest in real estate.

Mohamed Chbicheb, one of the organizers of the event, noted that 58 % of the Moroccans residing abroad want to come back to their country and that lowering the land prices might incite the Moroccan expatriates to invest in real estate in their home country.
