MobileCom extends its roaming capabilities

MobileCom, the Jordanian GSM operator, announced Sunday, February 25, it has launched its roaming service in 39 countries, up from 25 just two months ago. MobileCom is looking to top 50 countries within the first half of 2001. 

 

“MobileCom is increasing the number of roaming partners around the world to ensure that a larger number of countries can be visited using MobileCom GSM lines," said Yanal Mufti, communications manager at MobileCom. 

 

MobileCom has recently added Qatar to the existing seven countries in the Middle East region where MobileCom customers can roam. As for Asia, operators have been added to MobileCom¹s roaming partner list in Kazakstan, Georgia and Singapore with an additional two operators on the African continent in Mauritius and South Africa. European roaming partners have also been added in Belgium, Cyprus, Hungary, Ireland, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal and Russia. 

 

Countries where MobileCom customers can already use their GSM lines include: Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the Middle East region; Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom in Europe; Hong Kong, 

Indonesia and Philippine in Asia. 

 

MobileCom is the new Jordanian public mobile telephone network operator, and is the operator of the mobile communications license granted to Jordan Telecom. The company combines local Jordanian capability with the technological advantages and network management experience of one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, France Telecom.
