Misys Retail Banking Systems has announced that Bankmaster is the core retail banking solution being used by Dubai Bank, the first bank to be launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in over two decades. Misys worked closely with the bank and other vendors to ensure that the IT infrastructure met the tight launch deadline of just four months from project go-ahead.
Funded by Dubai’s Emaar Properties, Dubai Bank’s board of directors perceived a gap in the UAE for a more transparent approach, focusing on providing more innovative products and services to customers which are enabled by advanced technology.
The bank opened its doors to the general public in September 2002 and was backed by a comprehensive and intensive marketing campaign, including print, broadcast and airport advertising. Initial market reaction has been positive. The focus is currently on consumer retail customers, but the intention is to expand in to the corporate and in and investment-banking sectors as next step. — (menareport.com)
