Al-Arabiya will be airing its second episode in a series dedicated to bringing viewers the latest on the current political and social debates in Syria. A first of its kind, the show is a platform for critical and vigorous debate and will bring together Syrian intellectuals and members of the Syrian government to discuss domestic affairs and foreign policy.
In the run up to the Syrian Baath Party Conference, issues including the relationship between religion and politics, freedom of the press and nationalism will be addressed by Syrian intellectuals and government officials. Al-Arabiya’s initiative is significant by providing a unique opportunity for Syrians to confront pressing matters affecting their country today and its progress tomorrow.
On today’s show, host Zeina Yaziji will welcome Syrian Information Minister Mahdi Dakhlallah who will be joined by seven intellectuals. The show will be broadcast from at 1700 GMT.
