Juma’ah bin Ali bin Juma’ah, Oman's Manpower Minister, has said results of population, housing, establishment census carried out by Ministry of National Economy in December 2003 will offer the opportunity to verify the comprehensiveness and improve the accuracy of the statistical data on expatriate workforce his Ministry publishes.
According to <i>ONA</I>, the Minister said figures with the Ministry of Manpower indicated that around 580,000 expatriates were working in the private sector as at the end of 2003 while the census numbers for the same were less than that.
