Lebanon’s national carrier Middle East Airlines has chosen to deploy Interactive Sell from Galileo International, a provider of electronic global distribution services for the travel industry, providing the airline with increased inventory control and improved revenue management, according to a company press release.
Interactive Sell establishes a real-time link between the Galileo system and Middle East Airlines' systems, and provides Middle East Airlines with a first step towards the management of its product exposure. This includes allowing Middle East Airlines to provide Galileo travel agency customers with access to its inventory down to the last available seat, which maximizes revenue potential for the carrier by ensuring no possible sale is lost.
Interactive Sell allows an airline to return a record locator to the agent, thereby completing the transaction and increasing agency confidence in the transaction. Airlines are also able to customize the sale by sending back service-related messages in real-time that provide travel agents with important additional information, such as document requirements or in-flight service details.
Galileo International provides electronic global distribution services for the travel industry through its computerized reservation systems, leading-edge products and innovative Internet-based solutions. Galileo is a distributor of travel inventory dedicated to supporting its travel agency and corporate customers. A subsidiary of Cendant Corporation, Galileo is headquartered in New Jersey and has offices worldwide. — (menareport.com)
