Water treatment provider Metito Overseas has been awarded a sewage treatment plant project at the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone (SAIFZ). The new plant will be equipped to handle all the wastewater requirements of the zone.
The plant will be constructed to handle both the present and future demands of the zone and will have a capacity of 1,100 cubic meters per day in phase 1 with the potential to expand to handle any future increase in demand. The plant is being designed with a focus on the efficient recycling of wastewater from the plant.
The black and grey water generated by the business units on-site are treated at this plant and brought up to a standard of water quality suitable for irrigation and greening of the landscape at the SAIFZ.
Facilities have been made to utilize the treated water for the upkeep of the landscaping of the SAIFZ in accordance with International Standards. The recycling capabilities of this plant are designed to create an environmentally friendly atmosphere whilst using modern and fully automated systems.
The scope of work for Metito on this project included design, engineering, turnkey, electro-mechanical works, supply, installation and commissioning. This is the latest in a series of projects that Metito has undertaken for companies and organizations in Sharjah where the company has its European, Asian and African Headquarters.

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), it operates its European, Asian and African operations from its headquarters in Sharjah, and has a factory and laboratory facility in the Hamriya Free Zone.
