Metito Overseas Limited has completed work on a $24 million Emirati dirham ($6.5 million) contract to supply water and sewage treatment facilities, as part of an infrastructure contract package to serve over 1,300 homes in the Ruwais Housing Complex in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The company completed the two-year contract on schedule after commencing work in July 1999, confirmed a company press release.

The project has been handed over by Metito through Al-Muhairy General Contracting to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The project included the design and construction of the mechanical and electrical components of the sewage treatment plant, pumping stations and a supervisory data acquisition and control system (SCADA) monitoring.

The project is the latest in a series of major infrastructure projects that Metito has been contracted to execute in Abu Dhabi on behalf of the Government and Industrial sectors. In Ruwais the main contractor on the project was Al-Muhairy General Contracting with DMGM as the consultant.

Founded in 1958, Metito is an international company for the provision of wastewater treatment, desalination and water supply projects.
