Water treatment and desalination operator, Metito won an industrial wastewater treatment project in Iran worth 11 million Emirati dirhams (three million dollars). The deal is part of the massive South Pars Gas Field Development project.
The project at Bandar Assuliyah will be undertaken by Metito on behalf of Hyundai at a major onshore polystyrene plant that is a downstream facility from the South Pars Gas Field that is the biggest and most ambitious petrochemical development in Iran.
Already active on a number of major projects in the country this will be the first industrial wastewater treatment system that Metito has installed in Iran. The scope of work for this project includes the design, manufacture, delivering and supervision of the commissioning of a condensate de-oiling system, a chemical wastewater treatment plant, oily wastewater treatment plant and a sewage treatment plant.
It is believed that the South Pars Gas Field – jointly owned by Iran and Qatar – holds an estimated 6.8 percent of the world's total gas reserves. Onshore gas treatment facilities developed by Iran allow for the creation of a number of petrochemical plants for the production of a number of different by-products.
The entire Bandar Assuliyah project is being developed in 14 phases with Agip Iran seeking a number of leading international companies to work with it on developing different phases and elements.
Metito is an international company for the provision of wastewater treatment, desalination and water supply projects. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE) it operates its European, Asian and African operations from its headquarters in Sharjah and has a factory and laboratory facility in the Hamriya Free Zone. — (menareport.com)
