International public relation firms Inter-Regies and MEMAC Ogilvy have merged their operations into one of the largest advertisement agencies in the Arab world. Going into force in January 2003, the merger will create a new company that is set to will provide its services in 11 cities in the Middle East region.
Inter-Regies was formed in Lebanon in 1973, and has since served clients including Nestle, Royal Air Maroc, Zaarour Water and Alton Jeans. MEMAC is a Middle-East PR network established in Bahrain in 1984, and transformed into MEMAC Ogilvy in 1997, as it became part of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
It currently has eight branches throughout the region, including Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Qatar. Memac Ogilvy employs 180 people and manages over 50 brands, including 3M, American Express, Credit Agricole Indosuez, Nestle, Motorola, Unilever and Volvo. — (menareport.com)
