IT division of the Dubai-based Emirates Group, Mercator has completed a project for the UK’s Virgin Atlantic Airways.
Mercator has implemented three Oracle resource planning solutions – Oracle Financials, Oracle HRMS and Oracle Payroll for Virgin Atlantic. Oracle Financials comprises general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, purchasing and inventory modules.
Oracle HRMS provides the features needed to manage Virgin's total human resources requirements, whilst Oracle Payroll manages payments to staff. The deal will standardize and streamline Virgin Atlantic's procedures, increasing productivity and cost-efficiency.
Virgin Atlantic has expanded apace to be Britain's second largest long-haul carrier since it first took off in 1984. It serves 20 cities with a fleet of 26 aircraft and has bases at both major London airports -- Gatwick and Heathrow. — (menareport.com)
