At the two-day Middle East Chief Information Officers' Summit (MECIO'02) held last week in Dubai, CIO's from the region gathered to tackle the challenges they face in the current environment of change. Vice President and Research Director of Gartner Group Andy Kyte delivered the keynote address ‘Future Challenges for CIO's' to CIO's from over 70 Middle East companies.
Kyte delivered three key recommendations to the CIO's, they were: Learn to become a fast and effective follower, it is as important as innovation; Measure real productivity, and put in place investments and change management programs to improve it - there is no point in driving down costs unless you also drive up productivity; Value the productivity of knowledge workers - the competitive advantage will go to those enterprises that do so. — (menareport.com)
