Information storage solutions provider Maxtor Corporation will start volume shipments of high-speed Serial ATA storage devices to the Middle East by March 2003. This technology will improve hard drive performance to keep pace with increasing data intensive environments such as audio/video, consumer electronics and entry-level servers, according to a company press release.
Maxtor’s Serial ATA drives will benefit desktop users, gamers and video enthusiasts. As applications requiring higher performance and greater data integrity proliferate, Serial ATA (SATA) will expand into the mainstream segments. — (menareport.com)
