Computer Network Systems (CNS), a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based systems integrator, has reported that it has been awarded a contract by Mashreqbank to supply the bank with 4,600 high-speed point-of-sale (POS) terminals from Hypercom, making the total number of over 7,500 terminals. The deal is the largest of its kind anywhere in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Manufactured by payment technology developer Hypercom, the new terminals are equipped to recognize smart cards as well as commonly used magnetic strip ones. The new terminals are also designed to accommodate electronic signature and receipt capture (ERC) technology, an innovative solution that Mashreqbank will fit to all of the new terminals in the UAE and will enable acquirers and merchants to decrease costs, increase revenues and improve customer retention.

CNS is a system integrator focused on providing its customers with well proven IT solutions backed up by high level of services and support. Founded in 1987 by a UAE Investment Group, CNS headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has offices in Dubai, Al-Ain and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. — (menareport.com)
