Masafi and EPPCO set up recycling center in Dubai

The United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s producer of bottled mineral water, Masafi, has teamed up with petroleum retailer Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) to establish a recycling center at the EPPCO service station in Al-Wasl Road in Jumeirah. 

 

The recycling center will offer local residents and motorists the opportunity to deposit recyclable waste including glass, plastic, paper and cans to help promote environmental conservation in the UAE.  

 

This program will gradually be extended with the setting up of similar recycling units at other service stations of EPPCO, according to a company press release. EPPCO a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC). 

 

"Since its inception in 1976, Masafi has followed strict controls to ensure that the products are made in accordance with international standards that safeguard the environment. Our eco-friendly PET packaging reflects the kind of initiatives that we have already taken to support environmental conservation,” stated Ashraf Abushady, general manager of Masafi Mineral Water Company.  

 

PET or Poly Ethylene Terephatalate, is a recyclable material used to bottle soft drinks and other foods and medical products. Masafi operates in the mineral water business throughout the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. — (menareport.com)
