The Maroc Telecom Company posted a $200 million profit in 2001, a 17 percent climb compared with last year, reported Al-Hayat. The Company reported that the number of its fixed and mobile telephone subscribers increased to more than six million in 2001. The number of telephone lines in Morocco increased to eight million in 2001, including lines owned by the Spanish Moroccan Meditel Company, which operates the other mobile telephone network in the Kingdom. — (menareport.com)
