Maroc Telecom allocates one billion dollars to development

The Maroc Telecom Company announced its plans to invest 11.5 billion Moroccan Dirhams (one billion dollars) into expansion schemes between 2002-2006, reported Al-Hayat . The Company, of which 35 percent is owned by the French Vivandi Universal Group, intends to modernize its equipment and improve the performance of its technology and commercial departments. The company also seeks to purchase new technologies and expand reception networks in isolated areas. Maroc Telecom expects an increase in competition by 2003 and therefore wants to lower its call costs. — (menareport.com)
