Dubai Maritime City has proven itself to be an attractive location amidst the recent announced of the relocation of Jadaf Dubai to Maritime City, in addition to the launching of the manufacturing process of new shiplifts of Jadaf Dubai, currently located at Dubai Creek.
The shift of Jadaf Dubai to Dubai Maritime City, according to Khaleej Times, reflects the latter's distinction and is expected to provide a significant boost to regional maritime trade.
The move will also allow numerous companies currently operating at Jadaf Dubai to expand their enterprises, as Maritime City offers direct access to the sea.
Additionally, vessels calling at Dubai Maritime City will not be limited by size as they previously were, whereas, as a result of bridge crossing located at Jadaf Dubai, many vessels were restricted for being oversized.
Plans for the establishment of new shiplift facilities are also pushing forward at Dubai Maritime City, with construction of the support structures for the new facilities already under way. The new project is set to be commissioned by March 2007.
Jadaf Dubai is one of the oldest ship repair yards in the Arabian Gulf, having been established in 1979, and placing Dubai on the international plan of ship manufacturing and maintenance.
The company has pledge that the relocation process will not to affect the work of the companies currently operating in the port's original location.
