Malaysia to boost trade ties with Bahrain with major expo

The Caravan Malaysia 2003 exhibition will play a major role in boosting trade ties with Bahrain. The event is organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and is the country's largest event in the Middle East. 

 

Bilateral trade figures between Malaysia and Bahrain showed an increase of 51.7 percent over a period of five years. “Our bilateral trade ties has seen enormous gains over the last five years,” said Consulate General of Malaysia, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohd. Mustafa Abdul Aziz. “In 1997 trade between Bahrain and Malaysia stood at $58 million which increased to $88 million in 2002.”  

 

Caravan Malaysia 2003 will feature products from over 200 companies from various sectors including electrical and electronics, automobile industry, information communication technology (ICT), food and agriculture, furniture, building and construction, handicrafts and education.  

 

The three-day event, which will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center from November 29 to December 1, is also supported by the Department of Tourism Malaysia. Caravan Malaysia 2003 is a tri-nation event which will also be held in Saudi Arabia and the UAE in December. — (menareport.com)
