The Supply Chain and Logistics Group of the Middle East (SCLG) recently held their third networking forum, 'An evening with London Ports Authority' which was attended by corporate representatives from across a varied range of industries in the supply chain management process.

Guest speaker, Phil Harris, from the Port of London Authority, addressed the key note speech, followed by a presentation on Dubai's shipping trade by Steven Lai of Dubai Shipping Industry.

The event was organized by representatives from the SCLG Steering Committee comprising Emirates, MMI Logistics, Dubai Ports Authority, Panasonic, Sony and DHL, and attended by 45 members of various third-party, local, regional, government and other organizations, and logistics practitioners who form part of the supply chain industry.

These members include airlines and ocean liners; warehouse operators and logistics companies; manufacturers, distributors and retailers; and banks and insurance companies.

The SCLG group has the support of over 100 Middle East-based organizations, and is expected to play networking, educational, training and other developmental roles for members, when registered formally as a legal body. Apart from the Middle East, the Dubai-based organization also plans to extend its reach to the CIS and African countries, and the Asian subcontinent. — (menareport.com)
