The Dubai-based LogicaCMG has appointed Michael Sheridan as regional manager for Outsourcing. LogicaCMG's move into outsourcing was driven by its clients who asked for the company to operate and support their systems, particularly those that were mission critical, after the company had designed, build and delivered their Information Technology (IT) system.

A recent report by the Butler Group, European IT analyst, said “Logica tackles the thorny issue of simultaneously managing costs whilst providing flexibility for change. This is the future of outsourcing. Logica provides a comprehensive service geared towards individual customer needs, tangible results, and effectively moving the business forward through collaboration.”

The drivers for outsourcing the region are different than those in the US and Europe, were the principle driver is often to cut cost, in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East its driven by other factors. These include: Improve company focus, Gain access to world-class capabilities, Free internal resources for other purposes, Resources not available internally. — (menareport.com)
