Motorola's Global Telecom Solutions Sector (GTSS) has announced that Lebanon’s wireless carrier LibanCell will use its customized Network Support Program (NSP) for its growing network of 370,000 subscribers.
The contract with LibanCell for NSP services, the first in the Middle East region, is valued at approximately five million dollars. It includes deployment of full software maintenance and support services across LibanCell's network that offers Global System for Mobile (GSM) communications and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS).
With Motorola's NSP, LibanCell will be able to select from several levels of technical and hardware support, as well as an extended services module that include training and documentation, network reviews and local engineering support. Actual NSP components and service levels vary by region, but all programs include Customer Service Desk functions with 24x7 coverage, hardware repair and replacement modules and an e-support system.
LibanCell was incorporated in Beirut in 1994 following a Build Operate Transfer (BOT) contract awarded by the Lebanese MPT and serves today 385,000 subscribers. — (menareport.com)
