Statistics issued by Lebanon's Foreign Trade Ministry rank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the fifth largest importer country from Lebanon. According to the Beirut-based Assafir newspaper, the value of Lebanon's exports to Saudi Arabia hit $59 million in the first five months of 2006, which is equivalent to 6% of Lebanon's total exports in the same period.
The same figures rank the UAE as the third largest importer country from Lebanon. The value of Lebanon's exports to the UAE hit $67 million in the first five months of 2006, which is equivalent to 7% of Lebanon's total exports in the same period.
