Lebanese market activity down in February

Market turnover on the Beirut Stock Exchange decreased 2.8 percent in February from January 2001 to 905,134 shares. The only stocks, that saw any real pick-up in trade on their shares, were Solidere “A” and Ciments Libanais, as their volume increased to 268,626 and 241,255 respectively, from 147,243 and 77,452 the month before.  

 

Trade in bank shares dropped almost 70 percent from January to 53,365. The ratio of trading value to market capitalization decreased 10 b.p. from the month before to 0.26 percent in February. — ( Banque du Liban et d'Outre-Mer Sal )
