The Al-Sondos Suites are expected to be inaugurated by Le Meridien on January 7, 2003, in the presence of more than 250 dignitaries and heads of business. The all-suite accommodation, Le Meridien's first in the sector, has a traditional feel in terms of furnishings and art, brought into the 21st century with facilities such as wide-screen plasma televisions showing news coverage 24 hours a day, among other key services, according to a company press release.
Al-Sondos Suites by Le Meridien is a purpose-built 11-storey property, and is located five minutes away from Dubai International Airport in the heart of Dubai's burgeoning Deira shopping and business district, opposite Deira City Center, the city's largest shopping and leisure complex.
The property is the first in the all-suite property world for the luxury hotel group, which is the Emirates' leading supplier of hotel room stock under one flag, with more than 1,900 five-star rooms in operation.
Le Méridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of more than 140 luxury and upscale hotels (38,000 rooms) in 55 countries worldwide. The majority of its properties are located in the world's top cities and resorts throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
The company also enjoys a strategic alliance with JAL-owned Nikko Hotels, providing loyal guests access to an additional 42 properties around the world. Headquartered in London, Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts Ltd is owned by Nomura International Plc and managed by Terra Firma Capital Partners. — (menareport.com)
