The Lebanon Broadcasting Corporation (LBC)’s satellite broadcasting division and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hayat newspaper will unify their news compilation operations. The two entities will form a London-based news service called News Room, providing clients with information gathered by international correspondents, reported Lebinvest.
The deal is the second strategic alliance between a Lebanese and Arab media outlet. Last year, Future Television and Saudi Middle East Broadcasting Corporation formed a joint holding company with the goal of unifying resources available to both broadcasters.
LBC was launched over the airwaves of Lebanon in 1985. Ten years later the corporation launched a free satellite channel LBCSAT and now broadcasts LBC Europe, LBC America, and LBC Australia channels. Today, LBC Europe is broadcasting 16 hours a day while the two other channels broadcast around the clock. — (menareport.com)
