A board member at the Kuwaiti real estate company "Arkan" said that the local real estate market is currently "calm" after two years in which it saw large increases of prices, reported the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Watan.
Bader Salem mentioned several factors which caused this trend in the market: The instructions of the Central Bank which forbid joining the salaries of the husband and the wife for receiving dwelling loans has started to take its toll on the market, the report said.
Another reason is the tendency of investors to prefer investments in the international and local bourses due to the increase in interest rate in the international markets upon investments in real estate.
