Kuwait’s National Real Estate Company (NREC) recently requested to revoke the 17-year contract signed with the Safir International Hotel Management firm, providing for the operation of the Joan beach resort, located at the South of Kuwait in Al-Julai'a.
A Safir spokesperson stated that the request had taken his company by surprise. Having refused it, the spokesperson added, a 20-men party entered the resort and seized control over it, forcing Safir’s management and security personnel to leave. Following the incident, Safir has filed an official complaint against NREC.
The Safir International Hotel Management firm is a subsidiary of the Kuwait Hotels Company (KHC). NREC are the owners of the Kuwait Free Trade Zone Concession. — (menareport.com)
