Opening up of the Kuwaiti market is the most important economic reform to be carried out for the development of the private sector, said Edward W. Gnehm Jr. The former American ambassador to Kuwait and an expert in Middle Eastern geopolitics made these comments while lecturing at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) Wednesday. Regarding the opening up of the market, he noted, according to Arab Times, it might wipe out some of the traditional businesses in the face of competition, but would ultimately do good to the economy.
