Jubail Industrial Estate to receive $1.8 billion in investments

According to Al-Watan newspaper (March 11, 2002), the Jubail Industrial Estate is awaiting seven billion Saudi Riyals ($1.8 billion) worth of new investments in 2003, which signals the beginning of the second phase for the industrial estate. Petrokemya, a subsidiary of SABIC, is expected to establish a huge polyethylene-manufacturing project in Jubail Industrial Estate next year. SABIC is also expected to build a large technology center in Jubail next year. The Gulf Allied Steel Rolling Company is also planning to set up a factory in Jubail by the end of 2003. — (menareport.com)
