Jordan's Prince Faisal opens seminar on inter-Arab economic cooperation

Prince Faisal, the Regent, lasty week opened a seminar on inter-Arab economic cooperation held to mark the 70th anniversary of the Arab Bank Ltd.  

 

The three-day seminar is organized by the Abdul Hamid Shoman Foundation, the Arab Bank and the Arab Bank's Scientific Research Centre.  

 

Arab Bank Chairman Abdul Majid Shoman addressed the opening session stressing that despite the challenges facing the Arab region, the bank's experience is increasing continuously and its potential is growing and coping with the global economic developments.  

 

Shoman voiced his deep appreciation of the support which the Arab Bank has enjoyed under the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah as well as the late King Hussein, both of whom, he said, have worked diligently to boost the national economy and to build a stable and strong industrial base in the Kingdom.  

 

Shoman also voiced the Arab Bank's appreciation of the other Arab countries where the bank operates branches.  

 

Speakers at the opening session included prominent economists and politicians as well as representatives of major banking institutions in the Arab world. They addressed the session praising the Arab Bank's performance and its economic role in Jordan, as well as in other Arab and foreign countries. — ( Jordan Times )
