Jordanian owners of crude oil shipment containers, which operate from Iraq to Jordan, recently demanded that the cost of each ton of oil shipment be at least 12 Jordanian dinars ($16.8), reports Al-Hayat daily.
Recent rumors claim that the government intends to lower the minimum cost to only nine Jordanian dinars by awarding shipment privileges to a sole company belonging to an unnamed local investor.
Owners of the 4,000 crude oil shipment containers operating on the Iraqi-Jordanian route said that the government’s decision is a means of applying pressure on container owners not to seek rate hikes. –(MENA Report)
