Cement prices in the Jordan market dropped back down to their usual rates last week, falling 17 percent to 58 Jordanian dinars ($81) per ton, reported Jordan Investment and Finance Bank

The price fall was a result of efforts by the Jordan Cement Factories Company (JCFC) and the Jordanian government to halt exports and increase sales to the local market. The company increased its production by 2,000 tons of cement per day last month bringing total output to 14,000 tons.

JCFC was established in 1951 and produces and distributes cement and related products in Jordan and abroad either directly or through wholesalers. It is currently considered one of the largest cement manufacturers in the region with a production capacity of 4.2 million tons of cement and 3.6 million tons of clinker. — (menareport.com)
