Jordan Telecom (JT) recorded a 12 percent revenue increase in the third quarter of 2003 reaching 231.8 million Jordanian dinars ($335 million) compared to the same period last year.
The growth was driven by a 22 percent rise in MobileCom revenues compensating for the five percent fall in fixed-line revenues, stated a press release. Consolidated net income for the third quarter reached JD 25.7 million compared to JD 30.1 million by the end of 2002.
Jordan Telecom, established in 1971, is the provider of Jordan’s only fixed line network, an ISP, a GSM operator and Internet content delivery services. Jordan Telecom has the exclusivity on fixed line voice and data transport until end of 2004 and provides a fixed line network which forms the backbone of Jordan’s communication services. — (menareport.com)
