Jordan inflation hits 3.6% so far in 2004

Prices went up by 3.6 per cent during the first five months of 2004 compared to those recorded during the same period last year, according to the Jordanian Department of Statistics (DoS).  

 

The increase was mainly the result of a rise in the prices of meat, chicken and eggs by 6.5 per cent, cereals and their products by six per cent, fish by 4.2 per cent, yoghurt and dairy products by 5.2 per cent, oil and fats by 4.3 per cent, fruits by 2.4 per cent, spices by 1.6 per cent and sugar by 2.5 per cent, the DoS conveyed.
