Jordan's central bank will cut its discount rate one half point on Sunday, October 7, to five percent following similar actions abroad in the wake of the September 11 terror attacks on the United States, its governor said.
Omaya Tukan told the press on October 4 that half-point cuts will also be applied to the weekly refinance rate, to six percent, and the interbank rate, to 3.75 percent. —(AFP, Amman)
