Jordanian Health Minister Faleh Nasser on Tuesday, July 24, suspended the sale and imports of soy sauce products from south-east Asia, the official Petra news agency.
The decision was made after it was confirmed the products contained a carcinogenic chemical substance, the agency said. The ban affects products from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand, Petra added.
The products have already been banned in Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. ― (AFP, Amman)
