Recently published official statistics show that Jordan treasury revenues from the Jordanian Telecommunication Company collapsed by 76 percent in 2001 compared with the previous year of 2000, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awast . These revenues shrank from 55.5 million Jordanian Dinars ($78.25 million) to JD 13.5 million ($19 million) during the same period. The Financial Manager of the Telecommunication Company, Raslan Dirany, related the fall to the company’s transfers to the government to re-classifying the transfer payment system.
