The Jordanian Treasury Minister, Michele Marto, recently estimated the value of Jordan’s 2002 national budget at $3.36 billion, compared with $3.24 billion in the previous year, 2001. If Jordan receives the expected $336 million in foreign aid, the 2002 budget deficit will decrease to 3.5 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), reported Al-Watan. — (menareport.com)
