Switching solutions Verso Technologies company has completed the planning, installation and testing of a fully integrated, turnkey telephony solution for the Jordan Modern Telecommunication Network Services (JomoTel), a switch-based provider of domestic, national and international services.

Verso's switching technology will enable Jomotel to launch its first phase of prepaid and postpaid long distance and Internet services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Verso provided all of the products and services required to design, deploy and support JomoTel's new network, including a full suite of configurable prepaid long distance and calling card applications, scalable switching technology, integrated provisioning and billing software, network planning services and ongoing technical customer service.

Verso's technology will enable JomoTel to combine long distance and Internet services on the same calling card for its customers.

The solution was installed, tested and approved in late September and began running live traffic in October 2002. With the first phase network deployment completed, JomoTel's network will service more than 40 million prepaid phone and Internet minutes per year.

Due to forecasted growth, JomoTel expects to roll out a second phase network deployment later this year, with planned switching capacity of more than 2.5 times what it is today. — (menareport.com)
