The information technology (IT) infrastructure at the Emirates Bank International (EBI) has been upgraded following the implementation of an agreement between EBI and United Computer and Management Consultancy (UCMC). IBM's iSeries systems have been installed at the bank to speed up back office operations and enhance their service delivery.

In common with most banks and financial institutions, EBI has an ongoing concern about the length of time required to run the vital back-end processes. A team of professionals from GBM and EBI jointly developed and implemented a solution that will increase the productivity and efficiency of the bank's resources by facilitating straight-through processing.

The application system allows EBI to carry out a range of essential business functions, which combined with the power of iSeries means that EBI can now run their applications with efficiency. Moreover, as all the software runs on one central iSeries server, it is much easier for EBI to manage. — (menareport.com)
