Israeli industrial exports to Arab states reached $106 million in the first half of 2005 , up 21%, compared with the corresponding period last year, official Israeli data indicated on Tuesday.
Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute said the growth in exports to Arab countries was due mostly to increased exports to Egypt (141% rise) and Morocco (43%) and Iraq (7%).
These figures did not include $6 million in indirect exports to Arab countries through third parties, as part of joint projects between Israeli and Arab companies.
While Jordan continued to lead the Israeli list of Arab export market with US$53.8 million in the first six months of 2005, the overll Israeli exports to the Jordanian market dropped by 10%. However, the number of Israeli exporters to Jordan is currently amounting to 1,800, a 120% increase compared to 2003 figures.
