According to <i>Al-Sabaah</i> newspaper, the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture, Dr Sawsan Ali Magid al-Sharifi, said that the small agricultural loans fund had provided loans, valued ID 5 billion, to 4,472 Iraqi farmers. She added that the per farmer loan does not exceed ID 5 million. These loans mainly finance summer vegetable farming.
The minister urged the small Iraqi farmers to apply for these loans in order to promote the national agricultural sector. The loans were awarded to farmers in different Iraqi districts.
