Iraq proposes joint sea shipment venture with Bahrain

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport and Communication is considering launching a commercial sea line between Iraq and Bahrain, reported ksa. The initiative, which comes two years after the launch of a line for Bahraini passengers and cargo shipment between the Salman Seaport in Bahrain and Um Qasr Seaport in Iraq, aims to promote bilateral Exchanges between the two countries. The Chairman of the Board of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, Khaled Mohamed, suggested establishing a Bahraini Iraqi joint sea shipping company. This Bahraini proposal was submitted to the Iraqi Ministry of Transport for evaluation, while a Bahraini staff of technical specialists will arrive into Iraq to discuss the proposal. — (menareport.com)
