According to <i>Al-Ahali</i> newspaper, a senior source at the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation reported that the ministry had signed an agreement with one of Jordan's biggest airlines companies to transport passengers from Baghdad to Amman and from Amman to Baghdad. The Jordanian Alia Company was also committed to open offices for the Iraqi Airlines Company in the Jordanian capital, Amman, based on this agreement.
Jordan was the first country to operate flights to Baghdad few months after the removal of Saddam Hussein regime. It runs two weekly flights to Iraq.
