Iraq and France agreed to solve all problems concerning contracts signed between French companies and the Iraqi government. This move aims at opening a new stage in the mutual cooperation between the two states, and paving the way to assure that French firms will fulfill its contractual obligations to Iraq, including the supply of Peugeot cars to the Iraqi ministry of commerce.

According to Al-Bayan newspaper, this agreement was reached during a meeting held on March 26 between the Iraqi minister of commerce, Mohammad Mustafa al-Jaburi, and the French ambassador, Bernard Barjulie. The French official expressed the willingness of his government to provide study collegiality and training opportunities in various subjects, including economy, industry, international law and bilateral relations.
