Iran's deputy commerce minister said that the value of Iran's non-oil exports in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (starting on March 21) has risen to US$ 11.6 billion. According to IRNA, Mehdi Ghazanfari added the figure had posted a 41 percent hike compared to the same period last year.
He put the value of Iran's non-oil exports in the first nine months of the last Iranian year (starting march 21) at US$ 8.2 billion. According to Ghazanfari, petrochemical, industrial and agricultural products have constituted the main part of the country's non-oil exports.
Ghazanfari noted that the export of petrochemical products in the current Iranian year has risen by 37 percent compared to last year. Besides petrochemical products and minerals, export of vegetables, flowers, plants, wood and foodstuff has registered a noticeable growth.
He named China and UAE as the main export destinations, followed by Iraq, India, and Japan.
Iran's non-oil products exported to Iraq during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March-October 2006) reached US$ 900 million, the Managing Director of Export Affairs Department in Mines and Industries Ministry, Hossein Esfandiari, has said. Speaking to IRNA, he added that the figure for the non-oil exports to Iraq stood at US$1.2 billion last year.
