Iran’s Darou Pakhsh pharmaceutical firm recently signed an agreement with Germany’s Biotest Pharma Company to build plasma production centers in the Islamic Republic, reported IRNA. The contract commissions Biotest Pharma to provide the Iranian firm with technological support for the new entity’s central laboratories.
Darou Pakhsh was established in 1956 as a producer, distributor and trader of manufactured medicine and pharmaceutical raw materials. The company employs approximately 2,000 personnel and spends close to $50 million on raw material and machinery imports annually.
The company sold over 380 billion Iranian rials ($47 million) worth of product in the domestic market in 2000 and exported three million dollars worth of pharmaceuticals to Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Egypt, South Korea, Russia and Armenia. — (menareport.com)
