Shortage of aircraft is the reason for stopping Iranian flights to Turkish tourist islands, an Iranian official said on Sunday.

Talking to IRNA, Managing Director of the public relations bureau of Ministry of Roads and Transportation Mostafa Barzegar said the insufficient income gained from such flights forced the ministry officials to cancel flights by Iranian airlines to Turkish islands used to carry out only for recreational purposes.

He added that Iranian airline companies would suffer no financial damage by stopping the flights because they will be employed to fly to local destinations which are on higher demand.
