Iran Khodro exports $20 million vehicles in 2001

The Iran-Khodro Industrial Group recorded $20 million in annual vehicle exports during the last Iranian calendar year. Shipping automobiles to 32 countries around the world, the company has a spare parts export capacity of five million dollars, reported IRNA

 

Iran Khodro is the biggest automobile manufacturing plant in Iran. It was established in 1962 and began assembling the Paykan model followed by the production of Mercedes Benz Bus 302 and Minibus 309 as well as Paykan Pick up. 

 

With a market share of over 60 percent in Iran, Iran Khodro currently produces the Peugeot 206, Peugeot 405 and Peugeot Persia models. The company is also a leading maker of commercial vehicles and has contracts with Daimler Chrysler to manufacture Mercedes Benz trucks and buses, and Korean Hyundai Motors for manufacturing buses for the local market. — (menareport.com)
